Ursula's Crow
Irresistible! The energy, the wit, those Tina Weymouth bass lines and Sianna's voice - like Sinead O'Connor (who blazed a trail like no other).

about
Debut single release for NW Irish band, TRAMP. An absurd, yet optimistic view on social conditioning, with the sweet undertones of a 'Pavement' influences guitar riff to make it go down easier. Spacey with some jagged edges, this is the soft but fiery side of TRAMP.
As a story or metaphor, we are all 'Frankenstein's monster' - made up of other people's opinions and parts that don't belong to us. That we were born perfect but people, in their own conditioning, come along and can make us feel undesirable/inadequate/the monster. But we can choose to be real instead.
lyrics
I am not what you want me to be
Uncle Sam won't even point at me
Even the eyes of the Virgin Mary wall hanging won't even stare at me
Show me a picture and I'll show you the flaws
I can't do the things you do because I said so;
That's it
I can't show you probable cause
I know these programmed eyes were never mine
In the mirror, I'm a monster but you're my Frankenstein
I'll start listening more when people talk
Instead of worrying of how I ought to look
In their minds
The biggest waste of my time
Not living for your unwritten laws
Not for for the mobs and audience
Despite the fear and the torches
And I know these programmed eyes were never mine
In the mirror I'm a monster but you're my Frankenstein
Take off your goggles
Our world exploits feelings for money
It makes- it makes my vision wobble
I'm turning blue for someone else's green
And I know these programmed eyes were never mine
In the mirror I'm a monster but you're my Frankenstein
It's okay, we all have our crosses to bear
But just don't wait 'til you're crucified
To start to care.
